Blackpool 2001 Report: I finally got round to doing my report on the Blackpool Convention, see what you think and add any comments. It is the first report in the new articles section!

Woohoo! I think the design of the blog should be just about complete, which means I can concentrate on the content, check out the new features, polls, articles, links etc. I will try and get some content into them asap, look out for a Blackpool report in the articles section. Also I need your help, if you want to contribute to this blog in anyway click on the contribute button, and then get in touch.

Off to Blackpool Magic Convention! Full report when I get back, and the site will be finished off, as I now am using a new javascript topmenu rather than the other PHP one so its a bit easier to integrate it with the site.

Magician Blaine To Hang Off Building: David’s next big stunt is to recreate Houdini’s Straightjacket escape, I like Blaine, despite what other people might say, his character works for him, he is the mysterious magician, he doesn’t have to use clever patter, he doesn’t get in the way of the ‘moment’ by talking. Look at the publicity he is getting for Magic as well!

OpenCola.com: Open Source Soft Drink! They have applied the GNU licence to a SoftDrink… also has a few other products on the site like OpenCola Folders, SwarmCast, ColaSDK. Interesting idea though, could the OpenSource mentality be transfered to something other than computer code?

Sleights on the server: MPEGs of Greg Lee doing various card sleights.

MagicZOOM - The ultimate global internet directory of magic links: Another magical links site, hang-on isn’t this what I’m doing here?! Ah well, you can never have to many links pages

The magic of David Stone: Has some free Coin routines, and some essays. Also a discussion forum.

Half-Baked: Signed Card to CD-ROM Drive: Ryan has come up with a new cybereffect, signed card to CD-ROM! A very cool idea… I have a germ of an idea for a cybereffect but it will probably require some PHP or ASP coding so watch this space as they say!

phenomenon : Shuffling: what’s the deal?: How many shuffles does it take to fully randomize a deck? It seems to depend on how you define random…

Off now to Cleethorpes Magic Circle to see a lecture by top card legend Peter Kane! Will write a report tommorow if I can get the articles feature working

We have moved from F2S! We are now hosted over at webhoster which should make the blog 100% more reliable, and a lot faster. Sorry for the downtime over the last few days.

With the move comes a new layout, obviously still a lot to do but I hope you like the new vanilla style, will probably stay like this now as it will give me time to concentrate on the actual content of the blog and a bit more on some PHP coding etc. rather than what the blog actually looks like. I quite like it though, comments? I’m hoping to XML everything shortly, get the archives working, and then the features like the links, articles etc.

tarot cards, decks: aeclectic tarot: Site mostly dedicated to the art work on Tarot Cards, more than 250 different packs.

CardMagician.Com: Featuring a discussion board, Card Magic, and the Magic Spyder search engine.

Martin Nash: Homepage for Martin’s Farewell Final Lecture tour, if only he could make it over to the UK… I guess I’ll have to make do with the videos!
